Campaign Central

If you had to choose just one of these, who would you help?

A) - A single mother who lost her job when the owners closed their business. She has been job searching for six weeks, but cannot afford her water bill. Without your help, she will have her three children taken away from her when her water is turned off due to nonpayment.

B) - A woman who finds the courage to leave her abusive husband while he is at work one day. Without your help, she will have no place to go.

C) - An 85-year-old man who wants to honor his wife's last wish to pass away in their home. He can no longer take care of her himself and without your help, he will have no choice but to send her to a facility.

D) - All of the above.

If you selected D) - All of the Above, you choose to support United Way. Giving to United way reaches out to people in a variety of individualized situations. Choose United Way and Choose All!

Why United Way....

Local. With so many worthy causes, we know it is difficult to choose just one. By investing in United Way of Santa Rosa County, you are supporting 15 local agencies, including United Way, who all serve our neighbors. Every donation stays right here in Santa Rosa County (unless the donor designates elsewhere).

Leverage. You could give $100 to one of our partner agencies. They would be grateful for your help, and they would put your money to good use. However, when you give that $100 through United Way, it is added to the thousands of other gifts received, and together, they provide enough funding to provide a year's worth of programs in our community. Some of our agencies secure matching funds based on their United Way dollars, expanding one dollar up to eight.

Community. Your United Way gift is more than a charitable donation; it is all of us, working together to help not only families in need, but to improve the quality of life for our entire community. Bottom line, what affects any us affects all of us.

Join Hands. Over two-hundred local businesses are involved in our campaign. Won't you join us to make positive change in our community?

Why Payroll Deduction...

It's a service to your employees. For many people, writing a $25.00 check to support a fundraising campaign such as a walk-a-thon or dinner/dance can be difficult. They think of all the other ways that can be used to benefit their own family. But with payroll deduction, your employees can have as little as $1.00 taken from their check each pay period. Your company can hold that money in an account and send it in bulk to United Way monthly or quarterly. The employee will never miss that $1.00 because it never came in their check, but it is on their pay stub as a reminder that they are supporting their community. At the end of the year, they have a charitable donation to deduct on their taxes!

It's a way to give to the community. Small or large, your company's participation is important. Every bit helps in advancing the common good of Santa Rosa County! Whether your company raised $500 or $50,000, every dollar makes a difference. Our goal is to increase awareness and participation and you can help us reach out to inform your employees.

It's a way to foster morale within your company. Make it fun! Many companies host incremental fundraising activities such as bake sales, volunteer days and other promotional events. These events, in addition to the overall company campaign, bring the employees together for a common cause. They feel good about themselves, their co-workers and their company by participating in the United Way campaign. The employee who leads the overall campaign effort, called the Employee Campaign Coordinator (ECC), also feels connected to the community through ECC-only communications and year-round involvement to help engage your employees both inside and outside of the campaign. United Way keeps in close contact with the ECCs throughout the campaign.

Your company can get involved too! You can show your employees that the company supports their effort with a corporate gift or by matching their gifts at a certain percentage. It all helps to build the campaign excitement and advance the common good!
