"Due to the April 2014 Flood, we at United Way of Santa Rosa felt that there was an urgent need to create a volunteer center that would be able to match up people in need with volunteers that have the skills to fulfill whatever need that person or family has, whether it be helping with clean-up, donating items, or various other needs", explains Anja Machado, Director of Marketing & Communications. "We are very excited to have Karen, a volunteer herself, give us the capacity to be able to create this volunteer center so we can be prepared for whatever Mother Nature will throw at us next! But in order for the center to be successful, we need our community to step forward and volunteer so please come and sign up at our office."
